Progressive bluegrass outfit The Infamous Stringdusters have just released the fourth single off of their upcoming album 20/20, “Dancing on the Moon,” a modern bluegrass celebration of new romantic connections and surrendering to possibility. The band is also set to bring their tour to 4 New York venues.
“Dancing on the Moon” is a magnificent follow-up to The Infamous Stringdusters’ last offering, “Dead Man Walking,” which was met with high critical acclaim and named one of Billboard’s 5 Best New Country Songs. “Dancing on the Moon” is a carefree, catchy tune, allowing listeners to emotionally escape with its clever wordplay, speaking to sparks of clarity and luminescence.
The song immediately draws you in with its addictive banjo melody and vivid lyrical imagery. It’s a song about the excitement of newfound chemistry, exploring how these new connections can feel transcendent and otherworldly. At its core, though, vocalist and fiddle player Jeremy Garrett perhaps puts it best: in his words, it’s a light-hearted song about falling in love.”
“Dancing on the Moon” is just the newest installment in The Infamous Stringdusters’ repertoire of boundary-breaking bluegrass tracks. The five-piece outfit consists of Chris Pandolfi (banjo), Travis Book (double bass), Jeremy Garrett (fiddle), Andy Hall (dobro), and Andy Falco (guitar, and he’s a Long Island native), and since 2006, they’ve been fearlessly exploring the intersection of bluegrass, Americana, country, and indie-folk.

The track continues to build momentum toward The Infamous Stringdusters’ milestone 20th studio album, 20/20, which is set to release on February 13, 2026. The album coincides with the band’s 20th anniversary, and quite fittingly, it will feature 20 new tracks.
To celebrate this landmark moment for the band, The Infamous Stringdusters are going on tour this upcoming winter and spring. On January 21, they’ll visit Patchogue’s Patchogue Theatre for the Arts, and the following day (January 22), they’ll bring their show to New York City’s Bowery Ballroom. On January 27, they’ll visit Electric City in Buffalo, and they’ll make their last NY stop in Poughkeepsie on March 19 at the Bardavon 1869 Opera House. A full list of tour dates can be found below.
