Korn & Gojira Set London Ablaze with Metal Mayhem at Canada Life Place

Canada Life Place in London, Ontario, roared to near-capacity on Monday, September 22, as Korn and Gojira brought one of the heaviest packages to cross Canada this year. With Korn on a short Canadian run, the crowd leaned heavily toward longtime fans of the Bakersfield legends, but France’s Gojira wasted no time in commanding the stage much like their Olympic performance.

Gojira

Opening with “Only Pain,” Gojira unleashed a barrage of flame filled theatrics that matched their unrelenting sonic assault. The band’s precision and power were on full display during “Silvera” and “The Chant,” while “Flying Whales” created one of the evening’s defining moments. Accompanied by visuals and crowd chants that reverberated throughout the arena. Their encore featured a striking tribute to metal’s origins with a Black Sabbath cover, drawing admiration even from those awaiting Korn.

Korn

Korn’s entrance shifted the energy instantly. “Blind” detonated the room, with Jonathan Davis’s unmistakable voice cutting through waves of lasers and sweeping lights. A career spanning setlist followed, blending fan favorites like “Got the Life,” “Here to Stay,” and “A.D.I.D.A.S.” with deeper cuts including “Dirty” and “Somebody Someone.” Davis’s bagpipe performance during “Shoots and Ladders,” which transitioned seamlessly into Metallica’s “One,” stood out as a particularly memorable moment.

The production was dazzling, though sound quality varied. It was muddy in sections of the lower bowl, clearer higher up. Still, the intensity of Korn’s performance carried the night. The encore mixed reflection and fury: a heartfelt Ozzy Osbourne tribute with “4 U” flowed into “Falling Away From Me” and the explosive closer “Freak on a Leash.”

Together, Gojira’s fire and Korn’s nostalgia created a night that resonated with both longtime devotees and newer fans. In London, heavy music found a home, and Korn’s Canadian run cemented its place as a must see “Kanada” tour of 2025.
