Albany Latin Festival Returns for 28th Annual Cultural Celebration

The Albany Latin Festival returns for the 28th annual celebration of Latin culture and music in New York’s Capital Region.

The Albany Latin Festival is an all-day, family friendly festival that features musical performances from a wide variety of artists, highlighting the diversity of Hispanic musical genres. This year’s festival will be held on Saturday, August 23 in Albany’s Washington Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Kicking off this year’s festival is Tejano and Norteño singer-songwriter Liz Garcia. Other featured performers taking the stage at Albany Latin Festival include the internationally renowned Alain Pérez and Orchestra and the vibrant ensemble Grupo K’ndela.

Festivalgoers can also enjoy cuisine from a variety of diverse food vendors, purchase goods from artisan booths, obtain community information and join in on raffles and interactive family activities.

Presented by the Albany Latin Festival Association (ALFA), the festival has served as a cultural cornerstone of the community for nearly 30 years, celebrating Latino heritage and the importance of advocating for cultural equity and inclusivity in the heart of Albany.

The festival’s co-presidents Pedro Díaz and Dr. Rita Biswas have established the ALFA’s ongoing mission of “appreciation through inclusion”, with goals to raise funds and promote initiatives that bolster Latino performing artists across regional performance spaces.
