With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to decide what to see. Look no further. “On Stage” host Frank DiLella has curated a list of must-see shows this week, guiding you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond.
“My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do?)”
Social media sensation Rob Madge has brought their award-winning solo show “My Son’s a Queer (But What Can You Do?)” to New York City Center. In the heartfelt production, Rob shares childhood memories of staging musicals in their living room.
“I write a show about my childhood in lockdown. Because I used to put on lot of shows in my living room —as I’m sure a lot of people in theater probably did. And I found a lot of home videos documenting these living room shows, and they’re very outrageous and silly,” said Madge.
“And I would share them online, and people online would find them all very funny and silly. But a lot of people would also say how amazing it was that my parents were really supportive of my, let’s say, flamboyance as a kid,” they added.
The show runs through June 15. For tickets, visit .
“House of Life”
Next up is the international cabaret experience “House of Life.” Described as “part sermon, part party,” the show promises theatergoers a spiritual and celebratory journey.
“House of Life” plays 3 Dollar Bill in Brooklyn on June 20 and WARA – home of BATSU! – on June 22.

“This play has such depth to it that every day I can’t wait to do it again,” Hawke said. “There’s just more and more territory to explore and understand. I feel like I still learn about the play every time I do it.”
