Beijing and New York–based OPEN Architecture recently completed work on Shanfeng Academy, a new campus for the Mountain Kingston Bilingual School in Suzhou, China. Located in the Xiangcheng district, the new building is dedicated to the school’s athletic and cultural programs and designed to accommodate 2,000 students. The design comprises five discrete volumes, each faced with board-formed concrete with perforated textures and inset reliefs. The five structures are connected via a system of walkways and gardens—a nod to traditional Chinese landscape design.
