Arts industry hopes to benefit from renewed tourism

As New York City’s arts institutions continue to rebuild after the pandemic shutdown, both public and private funding has surfaced to help museums, theaters, nonprofits and artists themselves recover from a year when audiences stayed at home

“New York City has been the arts capital of the world and it needs to stay that way,” said Assemblymember Daniel O’Donnell, from the 69th District in Manhattan. O’Donnell has regularly advocated for arts funding.

“All across the world, people come here for the arts. It generates a lot of money, and it keeps New York New York,” he said.
