New York appears ready to emerge from its omicron winter. Covid cases continue to plummet, with a positivity rate in the five boroughs now under 5%. Hospitals are functioning well, and the city seems to be slowly crawling back to life.
Democrats in charge are beginning to understand that some Covid restrictions cannot last forever and we must learn, one way or the other, to live with a circulating virus, especially since we now have widely available vaccines and anti-viral treatments. The world of 2019 may never return in full but society will have to keep lurching in that direction.
