A stranger socked a woman in the face and robbed her on an Upper West Side train late Monday, police said.
The 23-year-old victim was on a northbound 3 train at West 72nd Street and Broadway around 9:40 p.m. when a woman she did not know suddenly punched her in the face and grabbed her cellphone, authorities said.
The mugger then ran off through the train cars, and had not been caught by Tuesday morning, cops said.
The victim was not hospitalized, according to police.
