Gov. Hochul in her State of the State address endorsed a slate of infrastructure projects with an eye toward improving transit options for outer-borough residents. Billing her plans as a “new era for New York,” the governor said the recent federal infrastructure package marked a once-in-a-century opportunity to get moving on construction.
In particular she endorsed a proposed interborough express—also known as the Triboro —that would use a 14-mile right-of-way to expand transit access and connect neighborhoods throughout Brooklyn and Queens. “I’m directing the MTA to immediately commence an environmental review so we can get that project rolling down the track.”
