The National Park Service turns 105 on today, August 25th. To celebrate its ripe old age, all National Parks across the country waived entrance fees today, with some hosting in-park programs. If you want to safely distance and enjoy one of the last weekends of the summer in the great outdoors, one of the 423 national park sites might be just the ticket. And you don’t need to get jostled by the throngs at the big NP destinations like Yellowstone or Yosemite. Read on for descriptions of some lesser-visited national parks.
