Universal Orlando Extends Its Hugely Popular Mardi Gras Festival Into Mid-April

In a year when they’ve been limited in everything from attendance capacities to the kind of entertainment they can offer, theme parks have pivoted away from their usual parades and concerts as ways to keep thousands of people at a time entertained, and leaned into the one thing that isn’t restricted at the parks at the moment — food. Southern California’s theme parks, which have not been able to operate since last March, began hosting food events that allowed places like Universal Studios Hollywood and Knott’s Berry Farm to bring in guests to eat and shop without being able to ride rides.
