Many fashion companies that produce knitwear, or more specifically cashmere, make impressive claims about sustainability but there’s one brand that is planning to show exactly which goat herd a garment came from. Celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, Mongolian company GOBI Cashmere has been around for a while and they’re a huge company today as the fourth largest employer in the region. In fact, GOBI holds the title of “the world’s largest cashmere store” with a 2,500 square meter cashmere shop in Galleria Ulaanbaatar Mall located next to Mongolian Parliament Building in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. And, to make cashmere available to everyone, everywhere, GOBI launched an online store in 2019.
