Greece was one of the first European countries to welcome vaccinated travelers, and judging by the crowded airports, the Mediterranean is having a major comeback. According to recent government figures, Greece has fully vaccinated about 48.2% of the general population. It is important to note for all visitors from the U.S. that you must have a negative COVID test before your return flight to America, even if you are vaccinated. I almost missed my flight waiting in a long line at Athens airport and paid 20 euros for a rapid test when the airline did not communicate this clearly.
