Is Croatia Europe’s new digital nomad destination?

Once one of Europe’s biggest tourist destinations, Croatia relies on digital nomads to dynamically contribute to the nation’s economy and reboost its pandemic-hit travel industry.

Croatia offers special visas to digital workers from outside the European Union, allowing them to stay for up to a year and exempting them from income tax.

American marketing consultant Melissa Paul became Croatia’s first official digital nomad earlier this year, and tells AFP why she chose this country.
