The airline industry, which continued to fly through the pandemic, has begun to recover from COVID-19. Passenger numbers are up, airlines are announcing new routes and low fares, and taxpayer cash and bond offerings have increased liquidity. Airline satisfaction actually hit an all-time high of 819 points on a 1000-point scale, according to J.D. Power’s 2021 North America Airline Satisfaction Study, with Delta ranking highest for the first time since 1995.
But as recovery starts to take hold, there is one very large fly in the ointment—-growing number of passenger outbursts.
