The Caribbean island of Curaçao is upping its game now that international travel is resuming. Dutch travelers are already in the know about the paradise of Curaçao, but new hotels and expanded air routes mean it’s easier for North Americans to get in on the secret.


Curaçao is an independent country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, autonomous since 2010. Its citizens carry EU passports while living on the stunning southern Caribbean island that’s just north of Venezuela. With Aruba and Bonaire, Curaçao is part of the ABC Islands and also refered to as the Dutch Caribbean.
