After appearing in the 1st century, the vines developed in Ancient Age when Aquitaine came into the hands of the Royal family Plantagenets. For three centuries, The Plantagenets boosted the exportation to Great Britain which transited via the Garonne river and its numerous tributaries. Later, philosophers lord Montaigne, baron Montesquieu and François Mauriac, Literature Nobel Prize in 1952 wrote the most beautiful words about the exploitation of their vineyards.
