Australia will lift its curbs on international travel in November—more than a month ahead of schedule—allowing its citizens and permanent residents to travel in and out of the country more easily, signaling the end of one of the toughest Covid-19 travel restriction measures imposed globally.
Announcing the move in a televised press conference, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said it was time to give Australians “their lives back.”
The first phase of the plan will focus on Australian citizens and permanent residents who will now be allowed to travel abroad with no restrictions on destination.
