With Knicks back at MSG, neighborhood businesses score big

The Knicks’ basketball season is in full swing–with the next game taking place tomorrow night against the Philadelphia 76ers–and the businesses surrounding Madison Square Garden are already seeing it as a win. 

After the Knicks’ nail-biting season debut last Wednesday night, a double-overtime win over the Boston Celtics, neighboring bars and restaurants told Crain’s they also scored big.

“There’s a lot of excitement for this year,” said Bruce Caulfield, owner of Tracks Raw Bar & Grill, an Irish pub and restaurant two minutes from Madison Square Garden. “It’s like the Broadway theater–the Garden makes us or breaks us. It can lift up the entire neighborhood.”
