Famed grocery chain Wegmans has inked a major deal to open its first Manhattan location in Greenwich Village.
The store will be the second city location and will be located at 770 Broadway, the former site of the Astor Place Kmart. Wegmans inked a 30-year, 82,000-square-foot lease with Vornado Realty Trust, and had previously opened its first New York store in the Brooklyn Navy Yard during October 2019.
“Wegmans is one of a kind and will be a best-in-class addition to Manhattan, both for the local neighborhoods and as a destination for residents from across the island,” Vornado Chair Steven Roth said in a statement.
