New York City’s shrinking local media landscape just got smaller.
The Wall Street Journal announced Thursday that on July 9 it will close the “Greater New York” section of its digital and print editions. The announcement was made by editor-in-chief Matt Murray in a memo on the Dow Jones website.
“This morning, we informed the ‘Greater New York’ staff that we’re shutting down the team and ceasing publication in print and digital on July 9,” Murray wrote. “Team members will have the chance to apply for other jobs.”
