Two men shot in robbery gone bad at Bronx subway station

Two men were shot in a Bronx subway station Saturday night in what police said was a robbery gone bad.

A 40-year-old man with a gun approached another man and demanded his property at the 182nd-183rd Street D train station about 6 p.m., police sources said.

In the ensuing struggle his gun went off, striking both men. The alleged robber, was hit in the face and the 21-year-old victim in the torso sources said.

They were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and expected to survive. A .38-caliber gun and five shell casings were recovered, sources said.

Charges were not immediately filed.
