Torkian Group to bring major residential project to Upper East Side

A large new residential development is on its way to the Upper East Side.

The Torkian Group has filed plans with the Department of Buildings for a 23-story, 106-unit residential building at 250 E. 83rd St. between Second and Third avenues. The project will stand 272 feet tall and span about 171,000 square feet, and SLCE Architects is the architect of record.

The site is home to a four-story mixed-use property with 23 residential units, city records show. A limited liability company linked to the Torkian Group purchased the site for $8 million in 2005, according to property records.
