Manhattan-based developer KPG Funds opened its latest building project, L’Atelier at 446 Broadway, three weeks ago to a cratering office leasing market.
Its plan to lure tenants? Allowing vaccinated people to skip wearing a mask.
“The tenants need to feel a sense of normalcy, and it’ll spur a faster return to the office,” said Gregory Kraut, the firm’s chief executive. “If you want to have people come back to your office building and the CDC says you can do it if you’re vaccinated, why wouldn’t you do it?”
Last week the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention eased its indoor mask-wearing guidance for fully vaccinated people.
