Teenager shot in Bronx park amid recent surge in NYC violence, NYPD says

A teenager was shot in the Bronx overnight, police and sources said — amid a recent surge in deadly violence inflicted on young New Yorkers.

A 17-year-old boy was blasted twice in the back with gunfire at about 2:20 a.m. Sunday in Pelham Bay Park, according to the NYPD. The teen was walking at Bruckner Boulevard and Wilkinson Avenue when he heard the gunfire, police said.

The boy was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, and is expected to survive his wounds, cops and sources told The Post. It is unclear if he was the intended target of the gunfire, and police do not yet have
