As corporate leaders speak out against proposed voting restrictions in Texas, Florida and Georgia, dozens of leaders in New York’s technology industry say lawmakers must take a hard look at ballot access in the Empire State.
The group of local technology chief executives and investors called on lawmakers to prioritize actions to make voting easier in New York in a letter on Thursday to the leadership of the Democratic-controlled state Legislature.
“For all of New York’s progressive values, it remains unnecessarily difficult to vote here,” read the letter, which was signed by roughly 100 people in the city’s technology scene.
