Suspects eyed in string of high-end jewelry thefts shot at by police in NYC

A pair of thieves with an eye for luxury goods — and believed to be connected to the Phillippe Chow shooting last month — were shot at by cops while targeting patrons at another Manhattan hot spot early Monday, police sources said.

The two armed men were casing would-be victims in their black BMW outside Chelsea restaurant Pergola just after 1:15 a.m. when cops spotted the vehicle, which was wanted in a pattern of high-end robberies, sources said.

Cops ran the BMW’s license plate and when the tags didn’t match the registration, they attempted to pull over the vehicle at West 28th Street between Sixth and Seventh
