Strike date approaches for New York's film and TV workers

More than 60 television and streaming shows, feature films and late-night programs are filming in New York City right now, but dozens of those productions could come to a halt Monday morning.

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees announced Wednesday that a strike would begin in the early morning hours of Oct. 18 if it could not reach an agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers by the end of the weekend.
