State's small-business recovery program ramps up its funding efforts

Who says bureaucracy is doomed to inefficiency? 

A month after Crain’s reported a slow rollout of funding from New York’s $800 million Covid-19 Pandemic Small Business Recovery Program, the state announced that disbursements have tripled since Aug. 25, and the number of small businesses that have received grants has quadrupled.

“On day one of my administration, I pledged to get pandemic relief out the door to New Yorkers who need it most, and I’m proud of our progress in getting this support to the small businesses that make up the backbone of our economy,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said on Friday.
