A day after missing its own deadline for funding first-priority applications for its emergency relief grant, the U.S. Small Business Administration added dozens of additional staff members as it pledges to speed up the review process.
The effort comes as just 102 Shuttered Venue Operators Grants have been awarded so far.
The shuttered-venue program had given out just $127.9 million of its $16 billion pot as of Wednesday morning, more than a month after the country’s theaters, concert promoters, cinemas and museums were able to apply to receive 45% of their lost 2020 revenue up to $10 million.
