School custodian arrested in fatal hit-and-run after reporting vehicle stolen

A Department of Education maintenance worker was nabbed in a hit-and-run crash that left a 44-year-old woman dead in the Bronx — months after reporting his vehicle stolen, police said.

Demoy Adams, 35, was arrested Saturday night and charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and leaving the scene of an accident causing injury, cops said.

The crash happened at East Fordham Road and Morris Avenue around 9 p.m. Aug. 28, and killed Murielle Gousse of Prospect Avenue and left a 53-year-old woman injured, cops said.

The vehicle was heading east on East Fordham Road when Adams allegedly lost control and hit Gousse, cops said.
