NYU student injured after pair of shootings just minutes apart in NYC

An NYU student and a 27-year-old man were shot Tuesday afternoon in a pair of separate incidents of gunplay just minutes apart on busy Downtown Brooklyn streets, police said.

The first victim of the broad daylight gun violence was shot in the arm around 3:10 p.m. outside the NYU’s Jacobs Building at 6 MetroTech Center — just steps from Brooklyn Borough Hall, police said.

University police said the gunfire had erupted between two groups of teens and the 19-year-old student was an innocent victim, an email from the university read.

He was taken to Methodist Hospital and is expected to recover, cops said.
