New StreetEasy feature aims to fight income discrimination

The popular New York apartment hunting site StreetEasy is introducing a new feature meant to help apartment hunters avoid and combat income discrimination.

The feature, which went live Thursday, is designed to improve home searches for New Yorkers who use housing vouchers to help pay their rent. The tool informs them about what their rights are as renters and tells them how to report cases of income discrimination by going to the city’s Commission on Human Rights.
