Local film, TV workers call for strike amid contract dispute

A Hollywood contract dispute is heading east, putting New York City’s film and television employers on notice that workers might strike.

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, known as I.A.T.S.E., called Monday for a strike authorization vote after a group of California-based employers did not address the union’s core contract issues, according to a letter signed by the national union and a dozen locals representing members in various sectors within the industry.
