Leading mayoral Democrats signal change in thinking toward big business

The economic downturn from the pandemic seems to have recalibrated city Democrats’ thinking on big business. Nowhere is the change starker than in the platforms of the candidates running for mayor.

Compared with Democrats in the state Legislature, who recently voted for tax increases on the wealthy and for new workplace health and safety regulations, the Democrats running for mayor appear positively bullish on business.
