Mayoral candidate Kathryn Garcia, former sanitation commissioner, outlined her real estate vision Wednesday and committed to revamping the property tax system. She also promoted green-energy initiatives and suggested that the status quo is the best path for the beleaguered New York City Housing Authority.
The revealing comments from one of the leading candidates for mayor came during a Real Estate Board of New York forum hosted by REBNY leadership.
“NYCHA does not need a new plan,” Garcia said. “NYCHA needs to execute on the plan it has.”
