To win the gubernatorial election next year, Gov. Kathy Hochul likely will have to fend off a group of Brooklyn-based Democrats who are her political allies today but could be her opponents tomorrow.
Hochul stepped into a lion’s den of rivals Thursday morning when she joined Attorney General Letitia James, Mayor Bill de Blasio and Public Advocate Jumaane Williams for a Democratic Party unity breakfast in Downtown Brooklyn. Some political experts view James, de Blasio and Williams as potential challengers in the 2022 gubernatorial primary.
