Here's what Gowanus developers think the rezoned neighborhood could look like

Three Gowanus property owners have come out with renderings of what they think the Brooklyn neighborhood could look like if the city’s long-anticipated rezoning of it comes to fruition.

The conceptual designs for the waterfront come from the Domain Companies, Monadnock Construction and Property Markets Group, and they represent a stark contrast to the Gowanus Canal’s current reputation as a notoriously polluted waterway. The images feature kayakers boating on a pristine canal and an abundance of green space right along the water.

The three real estate firms have significant property holdings in the neighborhood. Domain Companies owns 553 Sackett St., 545 Sackett St. and 420 Carroll St., and PMG owns 267 Bond
