Georgia man busted for smuggling two dozen guns into NYC: prosecutors

A Georgia man was busted as part of a months-long sting operation for smuggling 25 guns into New York City and selling them to an undercover cop, prosecutors announced Monday.

Yamil Torres-Rincon, 24, allegedly met up with the officer — who he believed to be a buyer, in Manhattan four times between Sept. 3 and Nov. 12, when he was arrested — according to Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan.

Over the first three meet-ups, the Atlanta man is accused of selling a total 20 handguns and three assault weapons, plus an unknown amount of cocaine, for $42,900.
