Eric Adams has astronomical lead over Curits Sliwa in race for NYC mayor, poll shows

Democratic nominee Eric Adams holds a 40-point lead over Republican rival Curtis Sliwa in the race for mayor, according to the first general election poll of the race.

Adams, the Brooklyn borough president, leads Guardian Angels founder Sliwa 61 percent to 25 percent among likely voters, with the remaining 14 percent undecided, the Emerson College/PIX 11/New Nation survey released Monday found.

But when undecided voters are asked to choose sides, Adams’ support jumps to 70 percent to 30 percent for Sliwa — a 40 point chasm.

Adams, a retired cop, leads by comfortable margins in all boroughs except conservative leaning Staten Island, where Sliwa bested him 61
