City's LifeSci initiative boasts nearly 3,500 jobs in the making

An estimated 3,458 new or expected jobs are in the works for the city’s life sciences initiative, launched in 2016, officials said Monday at a City Council hearing.

The New York City Economic Development Corp.’s projection is based on the funding and tax incentives that have been awarded under the LifeSci initiative in the past five years, to the tune of $192 million.

That includes $145 million in tax benefits, $38 million in city capital and about $10 million for an internship program and [email protected], a coworking space that can house up to 35 companies.
