New York City is among the top travel spots for Fourth of July weekend, when the number of travelers nationwide is expected to reach near-record levels.
The city is expected to be the seventh-most-popular destination in the country during the three-day weekend, according to AAA, which published a forecast ahead of the holiday.
Although travel has returned to normal in much of the nation, despite the holiday weekend influx, it’s predicted that tourism in the city will remain at about half-capacity through the summer, compared to 2019, according to the city’s official tourism agency, NYC & Company.
