Biden to replace FHFA director after Supreme Court ruling

President Joe Biden plans to quickly replace the regulator of U.S. mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac after a Supreme Court ruling Wednesday gave him greater authority to fire the official.

A White House official said Biden is “moving forward today to replace the current director [of the Federal Housing Finance Agency] with an appointee who reflects the administration’s values.”

The current director is libertarian
