As more New Yorkers relocate within the city, a Union Square moving startup expands

As rents tick back up and Manhattan homebuying heats up, Union Square startup Updater is expanding its services for residents moving within the city—rather than out of it.

The company, which helps people coordinate each aspect for their move through an app, has acquired Dolly, operator of an Uber-like service that sends a truck and a few helpers to move large items short distances. The companies declined to disclose the terms of the deal, though Dolly has previously raised about $17 million in venture capital financing.
