AMC warns investors not to buy its stock. Spoiler alert: They do anyway

Movie tickets may be expensive, but at about $17.50 apiece they’re a bargain compared to the cost of AMC Entertainment’s stock. Says who? Says AMC.

On Thursday morning the meme-stock favorite warned people not to buy its shares even as it prepared to sell them another $700 million worth, its second offering this week.

“We caution you against investing in our Class A common stock,” AMC said in a filing, “unless you are prepared to incur the risk of losing all or a substantial portion of your investment.”
