As told by her husband, filmmaker Andy Ostroy, Adrienne tells the story of the life, career and murder of actress and filmmaker Adrienne Shelly. Perhaps best known for her work in Hal Hartley’s The Unbelievable Truth and Trust, Shelly was also the creator of the 2007 Sundance hit Waitress, which has since gone on to enjoy a long run as a popular Broadway musical. The documentary shows her speaking out about being sexualized within the film industry, well before the #METOO movement.
